The campervan comes with the self contained certification for 4 more years, which allows you to go to any of the hundreds of freedom campsites without having to pay each night to sleep at a paid campsite (around $20 per night and per person), and also to avoid a 200$ fine for illegal camping ! For the ferry to south island, the campervan is considered a car, so no extra fees will be incurred for crossing. It is Chain Driven so no need to change the drive belt.
