ruc : road user charge
the diesel is cheaper than petrol but you need to pay a charge (60$/1000km), which increase the liter of diesel but it’s still a little bit cheaper than petrol.

self contained :
the camping is under high control in new zealand. if you want to go out the campsites you need to be certified self contained. this certificate proves that you are self sufficient and have no impact on the environment. you can safe up a lot of money by using the freedom camping spots!
